Karanjeshwari Devi – About Goddess Karanjeshwari

Karanjeshwari Devi is a manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti and in this form she is worshipped in the konkan region of Maharashtra, Goa and North Karnataka. She is worshipped for peace, prosperity and healthy children.

The murti of Karanjeshwari Devi is four armed and she holds a sword in her upper right hand. The upper left hand holds a piece of scroll. The lower right hand is in blessing giving posture. The lower left hand holds a pot of sweet.

She is a village deity who is invoked to overcome fear. She is also worshipped for protection from enemies.

Goddess Karanjeshwari depicts both benign and fierce form. She sheds motherly love to those who follow Dharma. For those who follow Adharma, she is the fierce unimaginable form that annihilates everything.

Karanjeshwari Devi is the kuldevi or family deity of many people in the Konkan region.
