Kunwara Bhivsen Temple at Nagpur in Maharashtra – Kunwara Bhimsen Mandir

Kunwara Bhivsen Temple at Navegaon near Nagpur in Maharashtra is dedicated to Kunwara Bhimsen, a deity worshipped by Gonds, Other tribals and Hindus in the region. Kunwara Bhimsen is believed to be a manifestation of Mahadev Shiva. He is also the fourth Dharma Guru of the Gond Tribe.

Kunwara Bhimsen Mandir is located atop hill and is surrounded by small hills with forts. The murti worshipped in the temple is smeared with kumkum and is red in color.



There is a shallow well nearby which is always filled with water.

The most important fair and festival is observe on Chaitra Krishna Paksha Panchami or the fifth day during the waxing phase of moon as per traditional Hindu Lunar Calendar followed in Maharashtra.

It is the birth anniversary of Kunwara Bhimsen.

Those people who have had their wishes fulfilled offer prayers on the day. Music, dance, animal sacrifice and huge fair are part of the festivities.
