Vitthal Birdev Annual Yatra at Pattan Kodoli village near Kolhapur – Birdev Janmotsav Festival at Pattan Kodoli

Vitthal Birdev Annual Yatra is observed in Vaishakh month at Pattan Kodoli village in Hatkanangale Taluka near Kolhapur. It is the birth anniversary or Janmotsav Festival of Vitthal Birdev Maharaj. Vitthal Birdev Annual Yatra in 2024 is on May 27.

The annual fair and festival attracts thousands of devotees to Pattan Kodoli village. Birdev is the family deity of the Shepherd community from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The main ritual includes processions, palkhi and offerings to Vitthal Birdev.

Vitthal Birdev Annual Yatra is observed on Vaishakh Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi or the fourth day during the waning phase of moon Vaishakh month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.
