Bohra Ashtami

Dedicated to Sri Krishna, Bohra Ashtami is observed on the Ashada Krishna Paksha Ashtami or the eighth day during the waning phase of moon in Ashada month as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in North India . Bohra Ashtami 2024 date is June 29. The day is of great importance in as Indrani Puja is held on the day in Mithilanchal. This Ashtami is also famous in Basora as Sheetala Ashtami is observed on the day. Please note that the information available about Bohrashtami is very sketchy.  

Snake and Ladder had its origin in India - It was known as Moksha Patam or Parama Padam

The game had its origin in India and was called Moksha Patam or Parama Padam or Mokshapat. It was used to teach Hinduism and Hindu values to children. The British renamed it as Snakes and Ladders.
