Sabarimala Thiruvabharanam Procession 2025 to starts on January 12

The Thiruvabharanam Procession from Pandalam Valiya Koyikkal Sree Dharma Sastha Temple to Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple carries the ornaments in gold to be adorned on the murti of Ayyappa Swamy on Makaravilakku Puja day. In 2025, Sabarimala Thiruvabharanam Procession will begin on January 12. The Makaravilakku Puja is on the evening of January 14, 2025.


This year the procession will be taking the traditional route. For past several decades, the traditional route was not followed.
The New Indian Express reports 
The Thiruvabharanam, kept in three sandalwood boxes, will be carried on head by a traditional 12-member team led by Kulathinal Gangadharan Pillai and Pratapan. The three-day procession will leave Pandalam Valiyakoickal temple at 1 pm after witnessing a golden eagle in the sky above the temple.
