Ashtami Snan at Langolbandh in Bangladesh


Ashtami Snan is an annual festival held on the Chaitra Shukla Paksha Ashtami (ninth day during the waxing phase of moon in Chaitra Month) as per Hindu Lunar Calendar. The festival is mainly observed at Langolbandh in Bangladesh. In 2014, Ashtami Snan began on April 7.

The main ritual involves taking bath in the Brahmaputra River at Langalbandh in Narayanganj and other holy rivers associated with Hindu community in Bangladesh.

Ashtami Snan is a 7-day festival and fair at Langolbandh.
