This extra month is a unique feature in Hindu lunar calendars which happens mostly once in 2.5 years. Kannada Adhik Bhadrapad Masa 2012 is from August 18 to September 16. The extra month is dedicated to Sri Krishna.

Adhik Bhadrapad Pournami or Full moon day is on August 31, 2012. The Purnima begins at 7:36 PM on August 30 and ends at evening 6:58 PM on August 31.
Telugu Adhik Bhadrapad Masa Amavasi
Adhik Bhadrapad Amavasya or No moon day is on September 16. The Amavasi begins at 8:59 AM on September 15 and ends at 7:58 AM on September 16.
