Telugu Hindu Calendar Extra Month in 2012 – Adhika Bhadrapad Month in Andhra Pradesh Calendar

In the traditional Hindu Telugu calendar followed in Andhra Pradesh, there is an Adhik Bhadrapad Month in 2012. This extra month is a unique feature in Hindu lunar calendars which happens mostly once in 2.5 years. Kannada Adhik Bhadrapad Masa 2012 is from August 18 to September 16. The extra month is dedicated to Sri Krishna.

Telugu Adhik Bhadrapad Masa 2012 Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha

Adhik Bhadrapad Masa Shukla Paksha (Waxing phase of moon) is from August 18 to August 31.
Adhik Bhadrapad Masa Krishna Paksha (Waning phase of moon) is from September 1 to September 16, 2012

Kamala Ekadasi – August 27
Kamala Ekadasi – September 12

Pradosh Vrat
August 29 – Pradosh
September 13 – Pradosh

Telugu Adhik Bhadrapad Masa Purnima
Adhik Bhadrapad Pournami or Full moon day is on August 31, 2012. The Purnima begins at 7:36 PM on August 30 and ends at evening 6:58 PM on August 31.

Telugu Adhik Bhadrapad Masa Amavasi
Adhik Bhadrapad Amavasya or No moon day is on September 16. The Amavasi begins at 8:59 AM on September 15 and ends at 7:58 AM on September 16.

Please note that Adhik Bhadrapad Masa 2012 in traditional Hindu calendar followed in North India is also from August 18 to September 16, 2012.

Adhik Bhadrapad Month in Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra is similar to the Telugu Calendar.
