Online Registration for Amarnath Yatra 2012 is from May 7, 2012. You can also register through the 174 branches of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited, 49 branches of the Yes Bank and 4 Bihar Central Co-operative Branches in India from May 7. The online registration facility for 2012 will be open on May 7, 2012. The annual Amarnath Yatra in 2012 will commence on June 25 and will end on August 2, 2012.

The annual Amarnath Yatra is undertaken by thousands of devotees to the world famous cave shrine in Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir State of India. The cave shrine is noted for the formation of a natural Shiva Lingam. The natural ‘ice lingam’ is formed by the ice droplets from the rooftop of the vast cave. It is a difficult journey and involves trekking at high altitude.

Amarnath 2012 Yatra Details

• Forms available in the branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Yes Bank and  Bihar Central Co-operative Branches. 
• Registration is on first come first serve basis. Begins on May 7, 2012
• Registration fee is Rs 15/-
• You can register for Baltal or Chandanwari route.
• Health certificate from a registered medical practitioner should be furnished when applying for a permit to make the pilgrimage.
• Online registered yatras will be provided provisional Yatra Permits and they will have to submit the prescribed Health Certificate at Yatra Base Camps - Baltal and Nunwan - and have their provisional Yatra Permits stamped by officials of the Shrine Board before being allowed to proceed beyond the Base Camps.
