Daridra Narayana Sashti

Daridra Narayana Sashti is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu. The popular belief is that Vishnu has two opposite forms Lakshmi Narayana and Daridra Narayana. One is the prosperous form and another is the poor form. Daridra Narayana Sashti 2025 date is February 3.


Daridra Narayana Sashti is observed on the sixth day during the waxing phase of moon in Magh month – Magh Shukla Paksha Sashti as per Hindu calendars followed in North India.

The day is dedicated to the service of the poor. Hungry and poor people are offered food on the day.

Sanatana Dharma believes that serving hungry living beings is the greatest service to God.
