Goddess Abhijit

Goddess Abhijit is mentioned in the puranas and is associated with fortune. Abhijit or Abhijita is also an important muhurta in day based on astrological calculations followed in South India. It is a generous and kind Nakshatra. Puranas states that Abhijit is the daughter of Daksha Prajapati. She is also the consort of Chandra – the moon god. Another legend has it that Abhijit resides on the peacock feather that adorns the hair of Sri Krishna. Abhijit is considered as the 28 th Nakshatra and is very rarely found in a lunar month.
