Surya Puja is dedicated to Surya, the Hindu Sun God. Kannada Chaitra Masa 2017 – Chaitra Month in Traditional Hindu Calendar in Karnataka in 2017

Chaitra Masa, or Chaitra Month, is the first month in a traditional Kannada calendar followed in Karnataka. Chaitra Masa 2017 begins on March 28 and ends on April 26, 2017. Hevalamba nama Samvatsara (Saka year 1939) begins on the first day of the Chaitra month which is celebrated as Kannada New Year (Ugadi). Some of the important festivals and auspicious days include Ugadi, Chaitra Navratri, Soubhagya Gowri Vratam. Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti.

Madhu Krishna Trayodashi March 2018 date

Madhu Krishna Trayodasi is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. It is observed on the 13th day (Trayodashi) during the waning phase of the moon (Krishna Paksha) in the Phalgun or Falguna month as per calendars followed in Maharashtra. Madhu Krishna Trayodasi 2018 date is March 15.

On Madhukrishna Trayodashi some devotees undertake a partial fast. Some Hindu devotees opt for a complete fast. The day is mainly observed in western part of India by some Hindu communities.

The upvaas and fasting on the 13th day is usually dedicated to Shiva.
