Full moon day in a Hindu lunar month is referred as Purnima. Vrat (fasting) and special pujas are held on the day. Purnima January 2013 date is January 27. The Purnima time is from 8:16 AM on January 26, 2013 and ends at 9:40 AM on January 27. Purnima Vrat is on January 26. The day is an important bathing date during the Allahabad Kumbha Mela 2013.
This is the Paush purnima in most calendars. Poush Poornima is known as Pushya Pournami in Andhra Pradesh. In Tamil Calendars, it is the Margazhi Purnima.
Magh Mela – Snan at Prayag in Uttar Pradesh begins on Paush Purnima (This year Magh Snan coincides with the Kumbha Mela). Magh Snan is an important bathing ritual at Sangam in Allahabad . There is a popular belief that taking a holy dip at Sangam on the Paush Purnima day will help in attaining Moksha.
The day is also sacred for Shakambari Ma devotees. This Poornima also marks the end of Shakambari Navratri. Many temples in India conduct important pujas and rituals on the day. Shakambari Jayanti is held on the day.

Pandey Ji, when I open your website to find Purnima Vrat your home page upcoming VRAT. When I click on Purnima VRAT say that the VRAT on January 27. When I opened 2013-14 Purnima VRAT here you say the VRAT on 26th.
So, I request you kindly let me know which day is correct for VRAT?
January 26 is the correct date. It was an error that has been corrected.
how to do this vrat......
i do nt understand
@ Anonymous: Do you have faith in yourself? If the answer is 100% "Yes" then and then only do any vrat. The reason is, if you do not have faith in yourself, you won't have faith on the "unkknown". Secondly, do not do any vrat because it is Purnima or Ekdashi or just because you expect something out of any vrat that you do. Do all your karma (because you cannot escape this state), but without any expectation of fruit. Try to know the "self", bring all that's inside on "surface"-observe it, accept it. Do not react towards them. Be aware and with this state, you will march towards a path that will ultimately lead you to the "unknown". This is my personal experience. You may or may not want to believe. May peace and light be upon you.
