Aadi Krithigai, at the famous Tiruttani Murugan Temple
Situated atop a hill, Tiruttani is one among the six abodes of Muruga.The popular belief is that Muruga who was born as six different babies was looked after by the six Karthigai stars. He was later joined by Goddess Parvati. The Karthigai Nakshatram is therefore considered highly auspicious by Lord Muruga devotees.
