Sahasrarjun Jayanti - Sahastrabahu Arjun Jayanthi

Sahasrarjun was a popular king of ancient India and is mentioned in the Puranas and other Hindu scriptures. He is also known as Kartikvirya Arjuna and  Sahastrabahu Arjun. Sahasrarjun Jayanti 2017 date is October 27. It is observed annually on the Shukla Paksha saptami day – seventh day of the waxing phase of moon – in Kartik month.

Legend has it that Sahasra Arjuna had thousand arms and once even defeated the demon king Ravana of Ramayana. It is also believed by some Hindu communities that Sahastra Bahu Arjun was an incarnation of the Sudharshana Chakra of Vishnu.

Puranas also mention Sahasrarjun to be an arrogant king and he had stolen the divine cow from Rishi Jamadagni's ashram. In the war that followed, Rishi Jamadagni, father of Parashurama (incarnation of Vishnu) was killed. To avenge his father's death, Parashurama annihilated the Kshatriya clan 21 times.

Kansara Samaj and Sahasrarjun Kshatriya Samaj consider that they are from the lineage of Sahasrarjun.

Hindu Quotes – Wisdom of Elders

When people reach the highest perfection, it is nothing special, it is their normal condition… Evil is a screen which hides the truth… The acts of this life are the destiny of the next… The flies seek filth, the bees seek honey. I will shun the habit of the flies and follow that of the bees. I will refrain from finding faults in others and only look for the good which is in them…
