A partial solar eclipse, Surya Grahan, will take place on January 4, 2011. It is visible in the northwestern parts of India Central Asia . In India, the Grahan will be taking place in Delhi, Jaipur, Dehradun, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Shimla and Srinagar from 14:37 hrs (2:37 PM) to 16:17 hrs (4:17 PM). The eclipse is not visible in other places in India

The partial eclipse will be visible in Dubai , Kuwait , Qatar , Oman and other regions in Middle East .
In Dubai
The eclipse will also be visible in most parts of Europe including Untied Kingdom

@ North America - the solar eclipse on January 4, 2011 is not visible in United States.
@ Haritha the places where the eclipse is visible in India is mentioned above and link too is given. It is only visible in Delhi, Rajasthan, and other north western states.

why all the questions about being pregnant???? the eclipse is not going to hurt anybody!!!! such weird superstitions in other places. You are pregnant, it's not an anomalous thing that you have to protect yourself from. Go enjoy the eclipse!!!!

Exposure to solar eclipse certainly affect pregnant women - the child will be born with defects which it has to suffer for life - there are many cocrete evidences. During solar eclipse, it is advisable for pregnant women to remain indoors. If a person says that this is superstition - I have a challenge. Let him visit the place where there is total exclipse and see the sun during the eclipse without protection - he can personally know what it is. For embrayo, even the ultraviolet rays can cause harm and hence it it advised that the pregnant woman remain indoors protecting herself from the direct sun rays
