Today November 7, 2010 is the last day of Diwali. Today is also the first day of Kartik month as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra , Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In North India , Kartik Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon begins today. Numerous rituals and pujas are held today by Hindu communities. Kartik month is also the first month in a traditional Gujarati Calendar.
