Vivah Panchami is an auspicious date dedicated Bhagavan Sri Ram and Mata Sita – it is observed as the divine marriage day of Sri Rama and Mata Sita. Vivah Panchami 2024 date is December 6. The day is also of great importance at Janakpur in Nepal. It is observed on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in the Margashirsh month (November – December).

The day is observed as the Vivah Utsav of Sita and Ram in temples and sacred places associated with Sri Rama in Mithilanchal region of India.

Vivah Panchami is an important festival at Janakpur in Nepal. It is believed that Janakpur in Nepal is the birth place of Mata Sita of Ramayana. The Vivah Panchami festival marks the wedding of Bhagvan Sri Ram and Mata Sita. It is observed in Margashirsh Month.

The main ritual during the festival is the enactment of the wedding between Bhagvan Sri Ram and Mata Sita.

A wedding procession from Ayodhya in India, the birth place of Sri Ram, reaches Janakpur in Nepal on the day.

The festival ends after the wedding is consummated. In the wedding, Shaligram Shila represents Sri Ram and Tulsi plant represents Mata Sita.

Vivah Panchami Festival at Janakpur in Nepal is held on Margashirsha Shukla Paksha Panchami or the fifth day during the waxing phase of moon in Margashirsh month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in North India and Nepal.

How To Do Ram Vivah Panchami Puja?

Use a picture or painting or murti (idol) of Ram and Mata Sita for Puja. It should be cleaned with water. 
Make usual puja offerings.
Lamp should be lit using cow ghee on the day.
Dhoop should be performed using gugal.
Tilak should be of kumkum, haldi and chandan.
White color flowers should be offered to Ram and Mata Sita.
Bhog or prasad on the day should be prepared using sabudana and kesar (kheer of Sabudana is mostly offered).
The prasad should be distributed to maximum number of people.
