Kojagari Lakshmi Puja 2013 date

Kojagari Lakshmi Puja 2013 as per traditional Hindu calendar – India Standard Time. Kojagari Lakshmi Puja 2013 date is October 18. This Mahalakshmi Pooja is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and is observed in Bengal, Orissa, and other parts of eastern India and also in some regions in western India.

Kojagari Lakshmi Puja is observed on the Purnima (full moon day) after Durga Puja.
In Hinduism, Goddess Lakshmi symbolizes prosperity and wealth and it is believed that on Kojagari Poornima night in Aashin month she visits the homes of devotees and blesses them. Therefore special Laksmi Puja is held in the evening on the day in homes.

On the day women draw Alpana or Alpona patterns (something similar to Rangoli) at homes. Most preferred Alpana is that of Goddess Lakshmi’s feet.

From where do hindu get concept of worship. is it all man made , how to preach each God. from where the teaching comes.
some God has to be given bath, for some you have to lit Diya, and so on.
IF there is God for each and everything than all my problems will be solved.
like god for money, then i will worship this god and my money problems should be solved.

You need to understand and be seeker than just blaming. Laxmi doesnt mean only money it means also prosperity. Means having good people and things around you. So if one is looking for only money should not workship shri laxmi.
Good luck in search of peace.

Good point the above anonymous...You need to understand and be seeker than just blaming.

Most people want god to do everything for them. No hardwork and determination. Just sit on a chair and money should come down from air.

The hindu religion has evolved over years. With vigorous tapasya (meditation), various yogi/rishi have found the ways of doing puja of different dieties/Gods (energies) to attain certain kind of material/spiritual benefits. For example, different yogasanas channel blood and life force energy to different body organs. Similarly, praying to different Gods (energy) channels our life force energy to different parts of the universe to materialize specific needs. Our mind is the most powerful of all. If you have faith, a simple heartfelt prayer is enough. And if you will to do the puja, the format is provided to you by the wise men. It is your choice. That is the beauty of Hinduism. Goddess Lakshmi has eight dimensions. Dhan (Money/gold) is just one of them. Others are Veera (Valour), Santan (children), Adhi (Spiritual knowledge), Dhanya (Food) etc.
