Marathi Shrawan Maas 2014 – Shravan 2014 in Traditional Maharashtra Calendar

Shravan Maas is the fifth month in a traditional Marathi calendar followed in Maharashtra and is a highly auspicious month. Shravan Month 2014 is from July 27 to August 25. The month is highly auspicious and staunch Hindus do not eat meat products and perform different types of pujas. Mondays is dedicated to Shiva Pooja and on Tuesdays women perform Mangala Gowri Puja. Other important festivals and auspicious days include Nag Panchami, Narli Purnima, Sri Krishna Jayanti and Dahi Handi.

Sankashti Chaturthi monthly fasting dedicated to Lord Ganesh in Shravan Month is on August 13 – Moonrise or Chandrodaya is at 9:04 PM – Indian Standard Time.

Shravan Maas Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha
Shravan Mahina 2014 Shukla Paksha (Waxing phase of moon) is from July 25, 2014 to August 10. 
Shravan Maas 2014 Krishna Paksha (Waning phase of moon) is from August 11 to August 25, 2014.

Purnima in Marathi Shravan Maas
Shravan Pournima or Full moon day is on August 10, 2014. The Purnima begins at 3:36 AM on August 10 and ends at 11:39 PM on August 10. Raksha Bandhan and Narial Purnima are observed on August 10. Rik Shravani is also on the day.

Amavasi in Marathi Shravan Maas
Shravan Amavasya or No moon day is on August 25. The Amavasi begins at 5:15 PM on August 24 and ends at 7:42 PM on August 25. Pola is observed on August 25. Pithori Amavasya is on August 24.
