Haritalika Teej 2013 date – Haritalika Vrat in 2013

Haritalika Teej Vrat is an important Hindu fasting dedicated to Goddess Parvati in North India. Haritalika Teej 2013 date is September 8. Haritalika is observed mainly in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and is some parts of Maharashtra. There is a widespread belief that by observing Hartalika Teej Vrat unmarried women will get desired husband.

It is one among the three Teej festivals observed in North India. The other two are Hariyali Teej and Kajari Teej.

Haritalika Teej Vrat is observed by both married and unmarried women. Married women observe the Vrat for a happy married life.

Hartalika Teej is based on the intense austerities (tapas) observed by Goddess Parvathi to get Lord Shiva as her husband. It is believed that Goddess Parvati will bless those women who observe the Vrat.
The fasting rules of Hartalika Teej Vrat are very tough and some women even don’t drink water during the fasting period.

Can a woman keep hartalika teej vrat if she is in mansturation? What will be the process of doing Pooja in such a case?

You can do the Vrat but avoid doing pujas. It is still considered as doing puja.

Someone else in your home or relative can perform puja on your behalf.

That will be very good. If your husband can perform pujas on your behalf it will be really auspicious. You can guide him to do the puja.

Yes you can start it again next year. Do not worry about it. First take care of your health that is more important.

God resides in all human beings. We need to take care of our body. It is equal to worshipping god.

You should drink water. You should also eat some fruits. harsh fasting is not recommended in scriptures. What is important is devotion not torturing the body.
