Nav Varsh 2015 – Hindu New Year in North India – Navin Samvat 2072



Nav Varsh 2015, the New Year in the traditional Hindu calendars followed in North India, begins on the Chaitra Shukala Pratipada (March – April) – the first day during the waxing phase of moon in Chaitra month.

In 2015, the Nav Varsh begins on March 21. Navin Samvat, or Nav Varsh Samvant 2072 begins on the day. This calendar is mainly followed in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh is celebrated on Chaitra Shukala Pratipada (March – April).

The first day of the Chaitra Shukla Paksha is also known as Chait 1.
