Narasimha Dwadasi Vrata February - March 2024

Narasimha Dwadasi Vrata is dedicated to the Lord Narasimha incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Narasimha Dwadasi Vrata 2024 date is March 21. It is observed on the twelfth (Dwadashi) day of the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Phalguna month (February – March). This is a Vrata associated with the Shaligram stones associated with Lord Vishnu.


Hindu God Narasimha, or Nrisimha, is worshipped on the day and some devotees observe a fast. It is believed the observing the day will help in washing away the sins.

The day is also observed as Govinda Dwadashi.

Some people observe fast from sunrise to sunset. The puja is performed just after sunset when the sunlight is still present.

Main offerings to Narasimha include orange color flowers, dhoop, agarbatti, red color sweets and lal chandan (red sandalwood paste).
