Kumbha Masam 2014 – Malayalam Kumbham Month in 2014

Kumbha Masam, or Kumbham, is the seventh month in a traditional Malayalam calendar followed in Kerala. Kumbha Masam in 2014 begins on February 13, 2014 and ends on March 14, 2014. Auspicious days in the month include Attukal Pongala, Sri Ramakrishna Jayanti, Tirunavaya Ekadasi, Kumbha Bharani, Chottanikara Makam and Tiruvilamala Ekadasi.

Mahashivratri is on February 27.

The month is of great significance in Bhagavathy Temples in South Kerala. Temple festivals are held in this month. Festivals in all most all the important temples are held during the period.

Full Moon and No Moon Day
  • Karthuvavu or Amavasi – March 1.
  • Veluthuvavu or full moon day (Purnima) – February 14
