Kumbha Masam 2015 – Malayalam Kumbham Month in 2015



Kumbha Masam, or Kumbham, is the seventh month in a traditional Malayalam calendar followed in Kerala. Kumbha Masam in 2015 begins on February 13, 2015 and ends on March 14, 2015. Auspicious days in the month include Attukal Pongala, Sri Ramakrishna Jayanti, Tirunavaya Ekadasi, Kumbha Bharani, Chottanikara Makam and Tiruvilamala Ekadasi.

Mahashivratri is on February 17.

The month is of great significance in Bhagavathy Temples in South Kerala. Temple festivals are held in this month. Festivals in all most all the important temples are held during the period.

Full Moon and No Moon Day
  • Karthuvavu or Amavasi – February 18.
  • Veluthuvavu or full moon day (Purnima) – March 5
Ekadasi fasting dates - February 15 and March 1

Pradosham Fasting is on February 16 and March 2
