Special kolams or Rangoli designs are created on Bhogi Sankranti day in Andhra Pradesh to welcome Makar Sankranthi Lakshmi. Kolams or Rangoli drawn on the auspicious occasion is known as Muggu or Muggulu. The traditional Muggu contains pictures of boiling pongali pot, sugarcane, sun and pumpkins which is enriched by traditional designs.
