Sabarimala Makaravilakku 2014 date - Ayyappa Temple Makara Vilakku Festival in 2014

Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Makaravilakku and Makarajyothi festival is observed on the first day of the Makara Masam as per traditional Malayalam calendar followed in Kerala. Sabarimala Makaravilakku 2014 date is January 14. The popular is that Lord Ayyappa merged with the main murti in the Sabarimala Temple on the day.


On the Sabarimala Makaravilakku day, the evening deeparadhana is the most important puja. During the deeparadhana, Lord Ayyappa gives darshan fully attired in the Thrivaabharanam – gold ornaments – which is specially brought from the Pandalam Palace.
