Triprayar Ekadasi is observed in the famous Thriprayar Sri Rama Temple in Thrissur District in Kerala. In 2013, Triprayar Ekadasi date is November 29. It is observed on the 11th day after the full moon in the Malayalam month of Vrishchikam (November – December). Ekadasi is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Vishnu on the 11th day of a fortnight in a traditional Hindu calendar.
The Triprayar Ekadasi is one of the most important festivals at the temple. On Dasami, the day before Ekadasi, there is a procession of Lord Shasta.
On the Ekadasi day, an utsava idol of Lord Rama is taken out for procession atop an elephant and the Lord is accompanied by 21 elephants. Thousands of people arrive at the temple to witness this divine procession.
Devotees also fast on the Eakdasi day and the fast ends on the next day morning. Special evening pujas and rituals are held at the temple.
The temple is located around 25 km from Thrissur town and is about 23 km from the world famous
