Hindus who strictly follow the Muhurat or Astrology conduct marriages only during auspicious time and astrologically correct days. Below given are the Vivah Muhurts in 2010. Please note that this Hindu Marriage Dates in 2010 are based on North Indian calendars and Panchang and might not be applicable in all regions.
January 2010 – There are no Vivah Muhurat in January – there are no Hindu Marriage Dates in this month because as per astrology there is a Shukra Lop.
February 2010 – There are no Vivah Muhurt in February – there is a Shukra and Guru Lop so there are no Hindu marriage dates in February too.
March 2010 – There are no Vivah Muhurat dates till March 17, 2010 due to Shukra and Guru Lop. The Hindu Marriage Dates in March 2010 are on March 22, 27, 29 and March 31.
April 2010 – The Vivah Muharat dates are April 1, 2, 3, 8 and April 9. There are no more Hindu Marriage Dates in this month as there is an Adhika Masa.
May 2010 – The Vivah Muhurat dates are May 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 and May 30. During the first fortnight there are no marriage dates due to the Adhika Masa.
June 2010 – The Hindu marriage dates are June 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 17, 20, 21, 24, 26, 28 and June 30.
July 2010 – The Vivah Muhurt dates are July 4, 5, 6, 9, 14, 23, 26, 27, 28 and July 31.
August 2010 – The Vivah Muharat dates are August 1, 2, 6, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 29 and August 30.
September 2010 – The Hindu marriage dates are September 1, 2, 3, 12, 13, 15 and September 16. There are no dates after this as Mahalya Shradh begins.
October 2010 – Vivah Muhurt dates are October 9, 11 and October 13. There are no more marriage dates in this month as there is a Shukra Lop.
November 2010 – The Vivah Muharat dates are November 9, 14, 18, 22, 23, 28 and November 30.
December 2010 - The Hindu marriage dates are December 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 25, 27, 28, 29, December 30.
All dates are based on Indian Standard Time.
Please note that these dates are only to give a general idea. You should consult a local learned priest or Jyothish to get a clear idea regarding time of marriage. In some regions the entire period in a day might not be auspicious for conducting the marriage ceremony.

Every moment is auspicious on the Akshaya Tritiya day, which falls on the third day of the bright half of Hindu month Vaishakh. ‘Akshaya’ in Sanskrit means ‘that which never diminishes.’
Astrologically, it is believed that the sun and the moon are most radiant and best placed on the Askhaya Tritiya day. Many devout Hindus choose the day to conduct auspicious functions. There is no need to select a ‘muhurat’ on this day as the entire day is devoid of malefic influences. Large number of marriages and several new beginnings take place on the day.

Yes Sharad Purnima is a good date for marriage. But as the writer has pointed out above. It is always wise to make decisions after consulting a regional astrologer as timings vary from region to region.
As per the marriage dates it starts from March 22nd. We checked with our local Pandit and he says there is no Muharrat this year till May 15th. We are located in Mumbai. Please advise.
