To help Ayyappa devotees visiting the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple from various parts of India, the Southern Railway Thiruvananthapuram Division has started a rail reservation counter at Pampa, the base camp for Sabarimala Pilgrimage. Devotees can reserve tickets on any train from here and they can also purchase unreserved train ticket too.
Please note that there is no Railway Station at Pampa or Sabarimala. The nearest Railway Station from Sabarimala is Chenganoor Railway Station on the Ernakulam - Kottayam - Kayamkulam - Trivandrum railway live.
The rail ticket reservation centre would function at Pampa till January 18, 2010. At present the train reservation center it is functioning from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The working hours would be extended if required. Arrangements are also made at Pampa to sell unreserved tickets.
