Official Website of Chennai Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple with Online Live Darshan

Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple is one of the famous and oldest temples in Chennai. Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar (Lord Shiva) is the presiding deity. Now Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple has an official website with online live darshan or e-darshan facility. The Kapaleeswarar form of Lord Shiva is that which exists at the time of Mahapralaya or cosmic dissolution. He starts creation once again from this Kapalam i.e. the ascetic bowl of skull. Lord Shiva is therefore called ‘kapaleeswarar’.
Apart from the Live Darshan facility, the website also has a facility to perform e-pooja.

Hey,

Was wondering for some time now about the caste system and how it functions in Hinduism. Not in terms of way before but as something that might oppose equity. Somehow I am finding it difficult to agree with the caste system as a way for all of us to "make peace" with our given destiny.

Lemmi explain.

I do believe in the caste system in terms of all of us having to "surrender" to our given destiny. A child who is born a mechanic must be so while a child who was born to be a teacher must allow his destiny to occur. I revel in that, actually.

But how does the caste system reflect on our view on one another as equal human beings. Does it mean that one should not "marry" from another caste member? Like a mechanic would only be suitable if he marries a dishwasher? :-)

There is something quite upsetting in that aspect. I appreciate the help on this.
