Masa Shivaratri, or Mas Shivratri, falls on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdasi of each traditional Hindu lunar month. Below are the monthly dates of Shivratri in 2013. ‘Krishna Paksha’ is the dark fortnight of a lunar month. It is the 14th day after full moon (Purnima) or more easy calculation one or one day before Amavasi. Shiva devotees observe the day with vrat, special prayers and pujas. Some devotees also keep vigil all night as in Mahashivratri.
(Please note that in some regions Masa Shivaratri might start a day early and overlap into the next day).

I live in Australia and follow the same days as above. Its becoz the time diffce being very less of abt +2.5-3 hrs from India.
i want to start these fast iz it the right time in mid...or i hv to start it from the starting of the year.....
You can start the fast in any month. If you are specific about auspicious dates. Then Mahashivratri and the one in Shravan is highly auspicious
The Masa Shivaratri for March 2012 is on 21st March, NOT on 20th March.
Please check your hindu calenders as well. :)
Thanks. We checked North India Hindu calendars and it is marked on March 20.
