Vishnu Gayatri, or also referred as Gayatri Mantram for Vishnu, is a traditional three line verse chanted to invoke Lord Vishnu. For many people Gayatri Mantra is the popular mantra in Rig Veda beginning with ‘Om Bhur Bhuva Suvah.’ But Gayatri is also a popular meter used in poems and shlokas – it is a special three Vedic meter used to invoke and focus on a particular deity.
Almost all popular deities in Hinduism have a Gayatri dedicated to them.
Vishnu Gayatri is
Naarayanaaya Vidmahay
Vaasudevaya Dheemahi
Tanno Vishnu Prachodayaat
Narayana, keeper of the supreme knowledge
we meditate upon you, greatest Vasudeva
Vishnu, enlighten us, spark our intellect.
