Khalilagi Ekadasi

Khalilagi Ekadasi is observed on the 11th day during the waning phase of moon in the month of June/July. Khalilagi Ekadashi is observed mainly in Orissa and in Jagannath temples. The corresponding Ekadasi fasting in other regions is known as Yogini Ekadashi. In 2017, the date of Khalilagi Ekadasi is June 20.

Khalilagai Ekadasi usually falls before Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Sarbhanga neeti ritual which involves use of large amount of Sandalwood paste is performed on Khalilagi Ekadasi at Jagannath Temples. This is also an important ritual at Puri Jagannath Temple.
