Bhadali Navami, or Bhadli Navmi, is observed on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) of Ashada month (June – July). In 2012, the date of Bhadali Navami is June 28. The day is also known as Aashara Shukla Paksha Navami and Kandarp Navami.
The day is of great significance for certain Hindu communities in North India . Fairs and important annual rituals are held on the day in some temples.
