Vindhyavasini Puja, or Maa Vindyavasini Pooja, is held on the sixth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Jyeshta month (May – June). In 2013, the date of Vindhyavasini Puja in Jyeshta Month is June 15. The day is considered highly auspicious for propitiating Goddess Vindhyavasini – an incarnation of Shakti.

Goddess Vindhayavasini is believed to be Durga that settled in the Vindhyachal hills after annihilating Demon Mahishasura.
It must be noted that the most important puja and festival dedicated to Vindhyavasini is held during the Navratri.
