Pradosh, or Pradosha Vrata, falls on the on the 12th day of a lunar fortnight in a traditional Hindu calendar. Pradosh dates in June 2010 – June 10 and June 23. Also known as Pradosham, the day is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. There are two Pradoshas in a traditional Hindu month. Lord Shiva devotees observe fasting from sunrise to sunset on the day and the main pujas are done during the twilight period on the day.
Pradosh puja period begins just before sunset and ends after sunset. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are in a pleasant mood during this period and they fulfill the wishes of the devotees.
