Ekadashi Dates in June 2009

Ekadasi observed on the eleventh day of a fortnight in a traditional Hindu lunar calendar and Ekadashi fasting is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are normally two Ekadasis in a traditional Hindu month. Fasting on Ekadashi is considered highly beneficial by Vishnu devotees. The dates of Ekadasi in June 2009 are June 3 and June 19. (Panchang calculating time for US, Canada and UK has marked the second Ekadasi in June month is marked on June 18 for these regions.)

The Ekadashi on June 3, 2009 is known as Bhim Ekadasi or Nirjala Ekadasi.

The Ekadashi on June 19, 2009 is known as Yogini Ekadasi.
