Ekadasi observed on the eleventh day of a fortnight in a traditional Hindu lunar calendar and Ekadashi fasting is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The dates of Ekadasi in June 2010 are June 8 and June 22. There are normally two Ekadasis in a traditional Hindu month. Fasting on Ekadashi is considered highly beneficial by Vishnu devotees.
The Ekadashi on June 8, 2010 is known as Apara Ekadasi.
The Ekadashi on June 22, 2010 is known as Bhim Ekadasi or Nirjala Ekadasi.
