Amavas, also known as Amavasi or Amavasya, is the no moon day in a traditional Hindu calendar. This is the Nija Vaishak Amavas in North Indian calendars and in other regions it is the Vaisakh Amavasi. The Amavasi date is May 2 and 3, 201. May 2 is marked as Somavati Amavasya.
