Hindu Temples dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator, are few in number. In fact, there are only two famous temples dedicated to Brahma – the
Legend has it that Lord Shiva was disappointed with the world that Brahma created. Shiva saw disease, pain, suffering, death… in the world. He saw human beings madly scampering for momentary pleasure under the influence of Maya.
But Brahma was happy with his creation and he brought forth four heads to look in all direction. Brahma’s pride knew no limits and he popped up a fifth head to have a look at his creation. This pride of Brahma enraged Shiva and he became Bhairava.
Shiva as the ferocious Bhairava attacked Brahma and he cut off the fifth head for creating a world filled with misery, Shiva cursed Brahma that people will not worship him and will not conduct pujas, rituals and festivals in his name. And they will not bother to build temples in the name of Brahma.
Yet another legend has it that once Lord Vishnu and Brahma tried to find the beginning and end of Jyotirlinga (Shiva in the form of linga). Soon Vishnu realized that it was foolishness to try to find the end of Linga and returned back.
But Brahma who was looking for the beginning of Jyotrilinga could not find it but he was not ready to accept defeat. Suddenly he found a Ketaki flower falling down and thinking it was falling from Shiva’s head caught it and took it to Shiva to say that he found the beginning of Jyotirlinga. He asked Ketaki flower to act as his witness – that the flower was plucked from Shiva’s head.
Shiva cursed Brahma for lying – he would not be worshipped by humans. Ketaki flower was barred as an offering to Shiva.

I have heard a story regarding this.. Brigu rishi went to satya loka. But Brahmma and Vishnu were busy in their work and didnt realise the sage's presence. So he cursed Brahmma that they will not be worshipped at bhoolokha. Then he went to Kailash and there shiva and parvati were dancing and only after some time they realised the arrival of the rishi and seeked for pardon. So the rishi cursed Shiva, that he will not be worshipped in his real form but as only as a linga in bhoolokha. Then the rishi went to Vaikuntam and kicked vishnu on his chest with his feet and vishnu's reply moved the rishi and rest same as yours.
Its all wrong!, These stories are which makes our religion a joke for others and bcz of this they say even our great 'itihasas' also become myths for the monotheists due to making up merely which is unknown by stories blindly with some curses and praises to divinities. As i think "bramha" is a creator of this world so we see him in "bramhan" and in all its creations. his worship for the living is in 'living the dharma' and can be only worshiped through "Bramha-Gyana".
These stories mere story to make philistine to understand or even a missing link of understanding the notion of it. 'Bramha' is a creator deity so he is in 'Brahman' and its manifestations. He is realized by all the living by 'Dharma' and he is 'knowledge' so he can only be worshiped by 'Bramha-gyana'. As he is the creator of this material world how can one create a place of worship for him. Lets worship him through the 'knowledge' realizing through his better half 'Saraswathi'.
