Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies launches online course on Hinduism



Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies is an academy for the study of all Hindu traditions at Oxford University. The new online course by Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies is titled Understanding Hindu Identity and it has been designed by the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies to provide a thorough grounding in the beliefs, practices and traditions of Hinduism. The course begins on February 2, 2009 and is available to anyone with an interest in Hinduism, whether or not they regard themselves as members of the Hindu community.

The course is approved and accredited by the University of Wales, Lampeter, widely recognized as a centre of excellence for the academic study of religion, working in partnership with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies.

The online course is modeled on classroom courses taught by the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies for the past seven years in Oxford, Leicester, Harrow, and Birmingham.

The course is taught online. The tutor is available for live consultation at set times of the week and at all times by email.

The course cost is £95.
