Kalashtami, also known as Kala Bhairav Ashtami, is observed on the eighth day after full moon in traditional Hindu calendar. Kalashtami is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is his Kal Bhairava form that is worshipped on the day. The most important Kalbhirav Jayanti, or Mahakaal Bhairavashtami, is observed in Margashirsha month (November - December) in traditional Hindu calendar – the day Kala Bhairav appeared on earth. Staunch Shiva devotees observe special prayers and rituals on all Kalashtamis in a year. Here are the Kalashtami days in 2009.
(Please note that in some regions Kalashtami might start a day early and overlap into the next day).
