Sankashti Chaturti 2011 in Hindu calendar based on Indian Standard Time. Sankashti Chaturti, or Ganesh Sankashta Chaturthi Vrata, is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Ganesha in a Hindu lunar month. Here are the dates of Sankashti Chaturti in 2011, which falls on the 4th day in a Krishna Paksha lunar fortnight or on the fourth day after full moon or Purnima. Ganesha devotees observe a fast (fasting – upvaas) on Sankashta Chaturthi Vrata days.

When Sankashta Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday it is known as Angarak Sankashti Chaturti and is considered highly auspicious.
Note - Depending on the beginning of Tithi in a region, the Vrat might be a day before or a day later. We will be updating such differences regularly.

Pooja is performed after the moon rise(however most temples start pooja by 6 in the evening. If you want to perform a detailed pooja of 1 1/2 hours, you need to buy a cassette or a CD or download from internet. It is similar to vinayak chouti pooja.

There is no problem and don't worry. Now you must take care of your baby. Don't torture yourself and the baby by thinking of it or by performing vrats. Ganeshji is not cruel. He will bless your child.

In some blogs Oct 2011 fast is on 16 Oct and in some blogs its on 15 Oct...please confirm?
It is on October 15, 2011 in all calendars followed in Maharashtra, North India and South India.
I missed my fast on 15 October as I knew it to be on 16 October should I jeep it tomorrow please help urgent
Yes you can observe it tomorrow as there is Chaturthi Tithi tomorrow till 1:00 PM. So you can observe the fast.
But you should not make it a practice to miss the moonrise prayers and fasting.
