Buy Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Prasadam coupons at Dhanalakshmi Bank

During the Mandala-Makaravillaku Festival in 2008, Lord Ayyappa devotees visiting the famous Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple can buy the coupons for Aravana Payasam, Appam and Modakam prasadams from Dhanalakshmi Bank branches from anywhere in India. This highly praiseworthy move from the temple authorities will help in reducing the long wait before coupon counters at Sannidhanam.

Through this innovative idea an Ayyappa devotee visiting the Sabarimala shrine can buy coupons from a local branch of Dhanalakshmi Bank before starting his journey.

Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, which is managed by Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), had run into trouble last year with the Prasadam distribution.

It was for the first time that TDB had made this type of arrangement for distribution of prasadam coupons, a board release said. (The Hindu)

There is a huge demand for Aravana Payasam and Appam (the most important prasadams at the temple) during the two-month long annual festival of Mandala-Makaravillaku (November to January). Usually, devotees have to stand in long queues for hours to get the coupons. And another long wait at the Prasadam distribution counter.
