  3. Thanks so much for such an informative explanation of Shravan Month and what all the vrats signify.
I have always observed the fasting month, but have never known the significance, and nor have my parents explained them to me. Now that my children are getting to an age where they ask a lot of questions, I would like to be able to answer their questions about our rituals and festivals. Your website and blog have made this possible.

    Thanks again.

  6. What the f***? Whom are you trying to deceive? Just look at what your professional astrologer has commented:

    i. Some of you will have additional burden in workplace. There will be some sudden expenses. - It happens every month with all people, irrespective of the zodiac.

ii. Some of you will be motivated to perform well in their respective field. Some of you will find it tough to complete the expected target. - Again, it happens with everyone.

iii. Altercations with superiors and colleagues is a possibility. - When is it not?

iv. Avoid gossips and try to tread the middle path. - This is common sense; you don't need an astrologer to tell u that. Else, you are a moron.

    v. Business people will have normal month on the financial sphere. Good month to start new investments and expansions. - Your astro-bluff contradicts it with: Budget might go awry due to some sudden expenses.

vi. Avoid making harsh and hasty investment decisions. Take the advice of knowledgeable persons.- Don't people always? Stop farting around.

vii. Some of you will spend on travel. - Don't some people do that every month?

All in all, don't scratch there where you can't reach.

  7. Namaste Shanto...just don't believe in the astrology published in the blog.

We have to publish astrology as it is part of Hindu Culture

Please read this part which we publish at the end of all astrology related posts

...Please note that Astrological predictions should not be your guide in life and it should not be given undue importance. Belief in that supreme power plus determination, hard work and trust in your abilities can override any prediction.

    Thank You

  9. as mentioned about sravana month that it starts from july 23 and ends august 20th. also mentioned that rakhsha bandhan is on the purnima of sravana. so i believe that where ever raksha bandhan is celebrated people should consider that as the purnima. but in maharastra though people celebrate raksha bandhan why do they follow the kannada and telgu calendar where rakhsha bandhan has no importance.

  11. WE LIVE IN A ERA OF KALIUGA, WHERE SHAKTHI(POWER/ENERGY) IS MORE DOMINENT THAN OTHERS.

I AM PROUD AS A HINDU AND WHAT HAS BEEN TOLD IN HINDU MYTHOLOGY ABOUT VARIOUS HAPPENINGS AS ON TO-DAY HAS COME TRUE WITH REGARD TO KALIUGA ERA WHERE ADHARMA WILL DOMINATE DHARMA .

APART FROM THE ABOVE, THE ENERGY OF POWER(ELECTRICITY/NUCLEAR) WHICH DRIVES ALL THE ACTIVITY OF 20TH CENTURY ONWARD DID NOT EXIST EARIER AND RESULTS IN VARIOUS ADVANCEMENT OF COMFORT IN HUMAN BEEINGS CURRENTY.

THIS WOULD RESULTS IN DESTUCTION OF THE WHOLE LIVING CREATURES IN THIS WORLD TO BEGIN A NEW CHAPTER OF LIFE.

SIMILARLY ALL SPRITS OF LIVING CREATURES ARE A PART OF SHAKTHI(ENERGY)WHICH CAN NOT BE DISTROYED OR CREATED AS PER HINDUISM/SCEINCE.

HENCE, THE CONCEPT OF HINDUISM RELATES TO THE SCEINTIFIC REASONING OF EVERY THING AROUND US WHICH UNDERSTOOD THROUGH MIND MEDITATION OF OUR FORE-FATHERS BY DOING DHABASYA.LIFE CONTINUES FROM ONE TO ANOTHER AND ONLY THE BODY KEEPS CHANGING PERIODICALLY TO CONTINUE THE CYCLE OF LIVING. SUCH ABOVE CONCEPTS NEVER EXIST IN OTHER RELIGIONS AS THEY WERE CREATED BY A SINGLE PERSON WHO REPRESENTS AS/FOR GOD AS AGAINST AMALGAMATION OF THOUGHT FROM MANY SAINTS OF HINDUISM AND HAD AQUIRED THE WISDOM OF KNOWLDGE THROUGH DHABASYA.

THE HINDUISM UNIVERSAL NATURE GETS REFLECTED IN THE NAMES OF HINDU GOD RAMA / KRISHNA WHICH ARE USED/ PRONOUNCED IN OTHER RELIGIOUS WORDS ALSO.

RAMA-DAN/RAMA-LLAH OF ISLAMIC WORDS USED TO REPRESENT FESTIVAL/HOLY PLACE BEGIN WITH THE SAME OF HINDU GOD'S NAME OF RAMA RESPECTIVELY.

SIMILARLY,F1RST 4 LETTERS OF LORD KRISH-NA IS PRONOUNCED IN CHRIST OF CHRISTIANITY.

HENCE, RAMA AND KRISHNA ARE SACRED WORDS ACCEPTED UNIVERSALLY BY ALL FAITH.

ALL SACRED PHRASES HAVE ORIGINATED FROM HINDUISM WHOSE ORIGIN AND END
HAVE BEEN REPRESENTED IN OM (THE FIRST LETTER OF OM (O) DOES NOT HAVE BEGINNING AND END WHEN IT IS WRITTEN).

    Essence of BAGAVAT GITA

    * Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening...
    * What did you lose that you cry about? What did you bring with you, which you think you have lost? What did you produce, which you think got destroyed? You did not bring anything - whatever you have, you received from here. Whatever you have given, you have given only here. Whatever you took, you took from God. Whatever you gave, you gave to him. You came empty handed, you will leave empty handed. What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else the day after tomorrow. You are mistakenly enjoying the thought that this is yours. It is this false happiness that is the cause of your sorrows.

THE ABOVE ESSENCE OF BAGAVADGITA MAKES ALL OF US TO UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF SORROW/HAPPINESS OF OUR EXISTENCE IN THIS WORLD AND ENLIGHTEN OUR VISION OF EVERY THING AROUND US.

    G.MOHAN,
    HUMAN BEEING.

  16. Abhilash,

I came across your web site while searching information on Ganpati Visarjan.

Your 'About Me' states that you are a student of Sanatana Dharma. This got me very interested as I have been looking for the last several months for a way to understand my dharma better.

I do not know where to start.

Ofcourse, in our childhood, we did study and watch Ramayana, Mahabharata and other religious books and TV programs.

I am now looking for a way to better understand my religion.

Since you are a student of Sanatana Dharma, perhaps you can provide some guidance on how should I approach this. Any links or resources that you can guide me to will also be very helpful.

Thank you very much for the good work.

    Regards,
    Nishith

  20. Abhilash,

Are you able to responde to my question on September 3, asking you to provide guidance on studying sanatana dharma?

Any links or resources that you can guide me to will be very helpful.

  21. @ Nishith ..Sanatana Dharma is so vast there is no single source or link that is available for learning. But you can start with reading the Upanishads, Gita, Yoga Vasishta and Ashtavakra Gita...these contain the basic teachings of Sanatana Dharma.

You can then move on to other texts like Puranas etc.

    Thanks
    Abhilash
