Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti or Shankara Jayanthi falls on the 5th day during waxing of moon in the month of Vaisakh (May-June). Although there is a difference of opinion regarding the period of Adi Shankara, his birthday is celebrated annually on the same day – on the 5th day of the Shukla Paksha of Vaisakha. In 2015, the date of Adi Shankara Jayanti is April 23.
