Thought of the Day – A Calm Mind

An unperturbed person remains so because his mind is ever calm and tranquil, even in the midst of activities, owing to the absence of any egoistic feeling which alone is the source of distraction. - Swami Nityaswarupananda

Unless the mind becomes steady there cannot be yoga. It is the wind of worldliness that always disturbs the mind, which may be likened to a candle-flame. If that flame does not move at all, then one is said to have attained yoga. - Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

One of dull intellect, even without doing anything, is ever agitated by distraction; but the skilful one, even doing his duties, is verily unperturbed. - Ashtavakra Samhita
