Devaprasnam at Sree Krishna Temple Guruvayur creates more troubles

The ongoing Devaprasnam at the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple to know about the divine will is creating more controversies. Some of the observations by the astrologers conducting the Devaprasnam are making the Hindu community a laughing-stock.

The astrologers observed that the change in dress code initiated by the Guruvayur Devaswom Board to allow women wearing ‘churidhar’ into the temple is not acceptable to Lord Guruvayurappan.

Lord Krishna is not in favor of non-Hindus entering the temple. To allow or not to allow non-Hindu Lord Krishna devotees the Sree Krishna Temple is an ongoing debate in Kerala.

The Devaprasnam also indicated that there were flaws in the constructions done in and around the temple by the Devaswom Board.

O Krishna… Please Forgive Them...

Dress codes are requied for worship of Lord. This is a Vedic stipulation on how worship of Deities is to be performed. One cannot wear any dress he/she wants inside a Temple. I fail to understand how this is a luaghing matter, if only Hindus know about Deity worship properly.

Dress Code from the Vedas!!! Oh please!!! Stop using Vedas to defend such unethical practices. Let Lord Krishna devotees decide what kind of dress they want to wear.

i dont know more about this but why churidhar was banned is because it is a two piece cloth which relates to cloth of two pieces used in after death ceremonies.

God looks into your mind and not your dress. If you look at the ancient times, there were people who were so much immersed in God, didnot even know that they were naked. they were just walking round, singing praises of God and not bothered about anything else.

Hai evrybody,
watching the threads publishd, here,I do fail to understand why people are not willing to use a dress code when theyv are visiting a temple, which is just a matter of few minutes. If the logic of"dress not important to GOD" is to be followed....then in future, several requests such as"Pardha clad women should also be allowed or girls wearing jeans etc"and thse women activists will start going bla...blah..Even for an organisation, company or educational institution dress code continues to be an inseparable part and is rigidly followed....But when it comes to the case with THE ALMIGHTY all sorts of relaxations are sort. So,if hardwork or attitude important than dresscode...how abt. going to offices wearing only the indian tie or in B'day suite....grow up dudes!

allow non - hindus ? do we want to make it into a tourist attraction ? do we really want guruvayoor temple " invaded " by hordes of western and other tourists ? dress code ? --- are people in mini skirts and tank tops allowed into the vatican st peters church , dargahs , and other places specially revered in all religions ? sure, why not allow tourists to carry cameras also-- let them laugh and pass comments on the " funny " four armed , tiger / mouse riding gods and goddesses of the " hindus " good ! lets be " secular" and turn our holiest places into commercial establishments !no wonder Aurangazeb and Tippu Sultan treated us with deep contempt !

See, GOD is a personality whose form cannot be imagined by the human brain. It was only after severe penance performed by Hindu saints that we were given to know about HIS form. Humans are also given knowledge on how to dress, what kind of dress we should wear, what to eat, how to pray, at what times we should visit the temple, etc.

The meagre human being should scrupulously follow those divine laws. Humans have no authority to criticise divine laws.

The devaprasnam was a full failure. There is no reason for this useless thing. Lord Krishna likes all except the cruels, despite their religion and caste. He likes the people coming in any dress, except foreigners. So, it should never be done.
