Srivari Kalyanam in Andhra Pradesh on August 28, 2007

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will perform Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalayanam at 147 places in Andhra Pradesh and 11 places in other states on August 28, the Sravana Purnima day in 2007. The celestial wedding of Lord Balaji and Goddess Padmavati will be performed at 8:45 AM on Tuesday, August 28.

The Srivari Kalyanotsavam tradition of conducting the celestial marriage of Lord Balaji and Goddess Padmavati simultaneously in numerous locations outside Tirumala was started in 2005 by TTD. According to scriptures, the first Srivari Kalyanam was held outside Tirumala in 15^th century by Annamacharya, saint-composer.

On the day, Swamyvari Kankanams will be distributed to all the devotees. The idols of Lord Balaji and Goddess Padmavati needed for the marriage are provided by the Tirupati Temple.
