Ganesh festival is celebrated as the birthday of Lord
Ganesha, the God of wisdom, prosperity and auspiciousness in Hinduism. Ganesh
2013 date is September 9, Monday. The festival ends with visarjan on Ananta
Chaturdasi on September 18, 2013. The most important Ganesh festivals takes
place at Mumbai, Pune, Nashik in Maharashtra, Hyderabad
in Andhra Pradesh and Surat in Gujarat .
Ganesha is today worshipped around the world and the
elephant-faced Hindu god is one of the most popular deities in Hindu religion.
The 10-day Ganapati ends with the immersion
(Visarjan) of the idol on Ananta
Chaturdasi day.
