Vaikunta Ekadashi 2013

Vaikunta Ekadashi, also known as Mukkotti Ekadashi, is one of the important festivals dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In 2013, there is no Vaikunta Ekadasi as the Shukla Paksha Ekadasi in Margazhi month falls in January 2014. Vaikunta Ekadashi is observed in the month of Margazhi (December-January). The festival is more elaborately celebrated by Vaishnavites. It is more prominent with Tamil speaking people. The festival is known as Swarga Vathil Ekadashi in Kerala.

Vaikunta Ekadasi is celebrated with great importance in Tirupati Balaji Temple, Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple, and Bhadrachalam Sita Ramachandraswamy temple. Apart from these temples, all the temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his incarnations celebrate Vaikunta Ekadasi.

Next Vaikunta Ekadasi is on January 11, 2014.
