About 5,000 Dalits and activists plan to enter a temple in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district today as a mark of defiance against the alleged restriction on the community to worship there. Dalit Adivasi Adhikar Abhiyaan (DAAA) and Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan are spearheading the movement.
The 5000-strong group, which will enter the Chawanda Mata temple in Sulia village, will include Hajari Bhopa, a Dalit who was allegedly stopped from worshipping there and manhandled by members of Gurjar community on October 1, Bhanwar Meghvanshi, regional coordinator of DAAA, said.
